The Minnesota Electronic Security and Technology Association - Youth Scholarship Program 2011 Winners
The first place winner of the MNESTA 2011 youth scholarship is Jenna Wyffels. Jenna's father, Rick, is the Chief of police in Alexandria. Jenna will be attending University of North Dakota with an interest in the medical field. Jenna’s strong record of community service and academic excellence combined with her heartfelt essay earned her the first place award for this year.
Jenna’s Essay:
The second place winner is Ryan Blood. Ryan's father, Scott, is a member of the Silver Bay Fire and Rescue Department. Ryan was active in the National Honor Society and student council during his high school career and is working full time this summer in Silver Bay. He will be attending Hamline university in the fall.
Ryan’s Essay:
The third place winner is Mitchell Hanson. Mitchell's father, Dan, is a Lieutenant with the Virginia Police Department. Mitchell was active in athletics in high school and also earned his Eagle Scout award through various community service projects. Mitchell will be attending Hibbing community college in the fall.
